Our inclusive early learning programs contracts have had us singing about summer fun, luaus, the ocean, summer treats, and camping. Summer is one of my favorite times of the year to plan sessions because there are so many great songs that follow these themes.
“The Goldfish” by Laurie Berkner
“The Octopus Song” by Charlotte Diamond (some refer to it as “slippery fish”)
A modified version of the “Tiki Tiki Room” to incorporate core vocabulary related to Hawaii. (Feel free to email me at [email protected]. I am happy to share those song lyrics).
I also love to teach sing and sign hand motions to the song “Eating Ice Cream ‘Til the Cows Come Home” by Brent Holmes. The children love to recall who added which toppings to the ice cream.
With fall approaching fast, I thought I would share a few of my favorites!
